Movie Streaming for Nintendo DS?

March 10, 2010

Netflix, the US movie rental company, has suggested that the company plans to release a movie service for the Nintendo DS platform similar to the one it provides for both PS3 and Xbox 360.

“Imagine that Netflix offers its subscribers the ability to instantly watch movies and & TV episodes on their Nintendo DS,” reads the survey. “The selection available to instantly watch includes some new releases, lots of classics and TV episodes.”

“There are no advertisements or trailers, and movies start in as little as 30 seconds. You can fast-forward, rewind, and pause or watch again. The movies & TV episodes you instantly watch are included in your Netflix membership at no additional fee.”

It’s hard to guarantee any advancements in this suggestion, and the quality of movies on the DS would imaginably be poor, but this is all we have at the moment.

So for all you DS users out there, what do you think? Would movie streaming be a good idea for the DS?
